Get to know me

Hello!

I am a videographer, video editor, and graphic designer. I graduated last year in May from Indiana University Bloomington and have worked at a digital agency until August of 2021. Media has been something I’ve always enjoyed, whether it’s creating or viewing. We’re in a spectacular time where media, in all different forms, is around us. That makes it crucial for brands and businesses to keep up. The content creators too!

I’m excited to find my new team and keep creating.

More about me:

Everyday is a good day and I’m always excited about what’s in front of me. When I’m not working, I like to cook, spend time outside, ride my bike, explore, and find new little hobbies.

Internship

I started videography in high school, working on class projects and learning the basics of filming and editing. Senior year, I co-produced and edited a variety game show that a classmate had conceptualized. I spent a semester planning, filming, and editing that project, which was entirely led by us. Second semester, I was an intern for a local videographer. My internship included editing videos and working on a few of my own hands-on projects.

In college, I was an intern at a multi-service creative agency, working in filming and editing. The interns at Blueline focused on projects involving: planning, filming, and editing short videos for the company to use as social media content. At the end of the internship, we were able to create our own Behind the Scenes of one of the agency’s projects. After the semester, I was hired as a contract editor.

Student

Being a student in the Media program at Indiana University Bloomington gave me hands on experience in the field and in the studio. I learned production techniques and practices, studio production, visual communication through graphic design and photography, graphics, animation, and editing. Many of the projects were student led and I enjoyed the creative freedom we were given with projects. Though not all my projects were fantastic; I enjoyed making something that I had imagined into something tangible, and learning along the way.

CAREER

May 2019 – March 2020

Becoming an editor at Blueline really changed the trajectory of my editing skills. The agency really strived to tell a story and taught editors how to use voice, cuts, music, and space to make a video impactful and keep an audience watching. Even though it was hard at first to lay out a complex story, I learned editing techniques to really make what you were seeing on the timeline impactful. Without the dynamic transitions and motion graphics, you really get a simplistic sense of story and emotion. Throughout my time at Blueline, I worked on 5 different projects editing, some with multiple deliverables.

May 2020 – August 2021

While working at Clear Vision Media, I learned more about working directly with clients and small businesses. In my role there, I was able to really guide the direction of projects and manage them. Most projects came to me with a concept, and it was my job to take that concept to the finished product. I have gained that hands on experience that I wanted, but also learned project management, time management, graphic design, print, virtual reality, and other media.

I learned the importance of communication and organization internally, and with clients. I was able to work on large projects that required the help of other team members and many dedicated hours. In the course of a year, I was able to go on fifty+ video shoots and completed numerous deliverables each week between video and graphic design.

Me + The Workspace

Doing what I love and doing it well is very important to me. I want to be able to succeed in projects and be able to grow and advance my skills. I love a challenge and finding myself in new creative spaces that I haven’t been. With projects, I like to walk a line of “easy wins” and “challenge projects”.

I like working with a deadline and having an expectation set for a project (if there isn’t one, that’s okay). It’s important for me to have open communication, check-ins, and confidence in my ability to succeed.

TL;DR

Likes challenges, deadlines, and support

The social aspect of work is very important to me. I like being able to get to know people and talk. Being involved with the team helps me to be more open in my work. When collaborating, I like open communication, bouncing ideas off each other, reviewing coworker’s work and asking for or giving advice. I love learning from others and understanding the intricacies of everyone’s role.

I’m excited to get to work with a team again, whether we work on the same tasks and projects or not. I want to be able to joke and laugh in the workplace and also celebrate team wins and accomplishments.

TL;DR

Likes a good laugh in the workplace and team bonding

I’m very excited to join a new space and see how my roles and workload changes. I am organized and diligent with my projects. I like to see my vision from conception to end; if it’s just not working out, I’ll take a different direction.

I can bring creativity and structure to the workplace. I like taking the time to do tasks correctly to set myself, or my teammate, up for the future. I am very energetic and hardworking. I understand when something needs to get done, and quickly. I receive information well, take direction, and can work well with a team. I know when I need to be a leader and when I need to help someone else see their vision through.

I’m also very open to fit into whatever space I’m needed. I’m not set in that I need to film or edit any video a certain type of way. The most important thing to me is that a project gets done, the client loves it, and I’ve learned a couple new things.

TL:DR

Adds organization, team work, and creativity
