VIDEO PRODUCTION

I have been filming and editing for 6 years, working on a variety of projects. From a co-produced variety game show in high school to working with large corporate companies, I’ve expanded my skill-set and abilities to work with others and organize projects. A majority of my projects I have been the producer, director, director of photography, and editor. I love videography and video editing and the capacity that it has for emotion, creativity, and information. I’m excited to keep perfecting certain filming and editing styles, while also expanding into new types of projects.

Brand Videos

These videos fall more into a typical sit down interview and b-roll overlay video. I think the number one skill that these videos call for is storytelling, cutting up the pieces and putting them back together to keep the audience engaged and informed. The visuals shouldn’t over power the on camera talent, but instead add emotion and depth to what they’re saying.

Even though these projects require more diligent filming and more time in the editing room, I think this style is probably my favorite. I’ve spent hours and hours on some projects getting the perfect words and perfect shots all adding up to the perfect amount of time.

Video 1: This video was completed at one of my previous places of employment. The purpose of this video is to compel alumni to donate, keeping students in school. I was the lead editor on this project and worked with 5 different interviews, all over 40 minutes. (I did no camera operation on this project, but you can see me at 2:42!)

Video 2: On camera interview with Shane Christ, owner of Satek Winery, who tells the story of the winery’s origins.

Video 3: Multi-person interview that gives the audience information and comfort with bringing their dog to Special O.P.S. K-9 Academy.

Video 4: An Interview with CEO, Wayne Kaylor, cut and overlaid with b-roll talking about his expanding RV appliances company, Way Interglobal.

Community Spotlight Videos

Many clients that I’ve worked with are tourism bureaus or chambers of commerce. We’ve done two series of Community Spotlight Videos. The most exciting part about these videos is that we generally use community figures or business owners. The interviews are mostly unscripted, which calls for more time in the editing process, but makes the videos feel very face to face and more natural. The series are branded and follow a cohesive format, but we try not to over produce them or add too much to take away from the speaker.

The first Community Spotlight Video project consisted of 11 videos shot in Steuben County. They feature trails, a state park, downtowns, and more. This project was a follow-up to a well received Business Spotlight Video series in June 2020. This was a series of 12 videos highlighting local business during Covid-19.

An ongoing project, is a series of 15 videos in Kosciusko County. So far eight videos have been completed. See all videos

For both of these projects, I have been the lead producer, videographer, and editor.

Video 1: Video with provided talent highlighting the local breweries and spirits in the community. A fun immersive interview that takes you to five different locations.

Video 2: An upbeat video that shows off the community’s new multi-purpose trail.

Video 3: A video that literally walks you through a community paved trail. A dynamic on camera interview with plenty of scenic shots.

Business Spotlight Videos

I have really enjoyed this last year especially because almost all my interviews have been filmed on a gimbal. This allows me to move around and move with a person as they talk about something. For a business, this allows a face on camera that can point and show the viewer what they’re talking about. I also like this style of filming, because the person on camera usually does a lot better than they expected and loves the end result.

Filming these types of videos has trained me to be quick and on my feet. These videos are generally unscripted and the focus of the story may not be clear until we’re there. I’ve filmed and edited about 25 of these types of videos.

For these projects, I have been the lead producer, videographer, and editor.

Video 1: Learn more about what Spiece Fitness has to offer with Michelle.

Video 2: An approximately 19 minute 3-person interview condensed to 5 minutes. Camera cuts and aerial shots.

Video 3: An explainer video on how solar panels work with a visual aid animation created by me.

Business Shorts

Sometimes a business doesn’t need anything elaborate at all. Just a short amount of time to convey a message. These are the types of videos that I like to throw the effects, transitions, and motion graphics on. Since I know we only have the audience there for a short time, I can leave more of an impression and emotion on the viewer (excited and informed is ideal). Since there isn’t room for grand storytelling, titles and visuals aid getting the message to the viewer.

These types of videos are fun, easy, and a quick edit.

Video 1: An upbeat overview of what Clear Vision Media can do for your hotel or motel with visual aids and motion graphics.

Video 2: A highlight reel style video with no on camera video. Music, cuts, and shots that make you say, “I want to go there!”.
